USB microphones with the RODECaster Pro II & Duo
In this episode we try out RODE’s latest beta firmware update (1.3.2) for the RODECaster Pro II. This update adds a very exciting and much-requested capability: USB microphone support! What does this mean? The RCPII can now be used with most RODE USB mics via a direct USB-C connection, taking the RCPII’s capacity from 4 total mics to 5 and the Duo’s capacity from 2 total mics to 3. In this video we talk through the specifics, demonstrate how to connect your USB mics to the RODECaster, and listen to a sound quality sample compared to two standard XLR mic connections. Let’s take a closer look!

SONY UWP-D27 Wireless Mic Review — 2-channel 4th Gen System
In this episode we have a look at and a listen to the SONY UWP-D wireless microphone system. This 2 channel kit includes a dual channel receiver and two transmitters with lavalier microphones. The system is a good fit for wedding videographers, news, and general video making, especially if you film with SONY cameras which have the MI shoe — which allows you to feed clean digital audio from the receiver, directly into the camera with no extra wires.

TASCAM DR-10L PRO Review - Micro Audio Recorder for Video
In this episode we review the new TASCAM DR-10L PRO lavalier micro recorder. This audio recorder can be used instead of wireless microphone systems. Instead of sending the audio wirelessly back to your camera or audio recorder, the audio is recorded on the body pack. Then in post production, you sync the audio to the video clips. And the DR-10L PRO makes that pretty easy with timecode support. It also records 32-bit float wide dynamic range audio so the chances of your sound clipping or distorting is much lower than with traditional recorders. Let’s take a closer look and listen!
