My favorite 32-bit float pocket recorder DEITY PR-2 review

In this episode we have a look at DEITY’s new PR-2 body pack audio recorder! This tiny 32-bit float recorder has a unique feature set that includes both 24-bit and 32-bit float recording options, inbuilt timecode generation, and ultra-long battery life. In this video we’ll test out each of these features as well as compare the PR-2’s sound quality and functionality to similar recorders on the market. Let’s take a closer look and listen!

Fix Your Speaker Sound: ARC Studio Room Correction System

When mixing dialogue audio for video projects, we need to start with accurate sound output if we want to create an accurate end result. Because many of us are working in home studios and rooms without acoustic treatment, room correction software can help us achieve this without the need to massively modify your space. Why do pros use Ambient QP Slim microphone boom poles?

In this week’s episode we discuss why professional boom operators might choose a boom pole like the Ambient QP Slim. This boutique boom is made of a unique carbon fiber material sectioned into four extendable pieces that are connected with specially-engineered locks. Let’s compare it to some similar booms and examine the differences between a consumer and pro-level pole.

How To Use Your Zoom F3 as an Audio Interface

The awesome versatility of the F3 allows you to easily record 32-bit float audio straight into a DAW or recording app on your computer, as well as monitor system sound directly from the F3. Plus, it’s super easy to set up and get recording! Let’s see how it’s done!

Sound for Video Session — DPA 4017b Shotgun Microphone & Q&A

In this session, we'll have a look and listen to the DPA 4017b shotgun microphone. This has been my primary shotgun microphone for 6 or 7 years now and still my go-to when capturing sound outdoors for most productions. We'll get you some sound samples relative to the Sennheiser MKH416, RODE NTG3, and RODE NTG5 for reference. We'll also demonstrate its off-axis response. Sound for Video Session — Fairlight Desktop Console & Q&A

In this session, we'll have an initial look at the Blackmagic Design Fairlight Desktop console. This control surface has the potential to speed up a Fairlight workflow for those who mix videos with several channels of audio. It also has a small screen for each channel, transport, faders, and other controls. You can also connect an HDMI monitor directly to the control surface so you can see all of the settings without taking up space on your main DaVinci Resolve screen. We'll also answer your sound for video questions.
