What is a dB (decibel)?

Great article by Steve DeMott over at Production Expert titled, “dBs Explained: A Musician's Guide To Understanding Decibels.” While it is aimed at musicians, it is 100% relevant for filmmakers and good to understand the different dB scales so you can sort out problems, interconnect gear, calibrate levels, and become a better mixer.
