Godox WMicS1 Dual Channel Wireless Microphone System - Budget Consumer Grade System
In this episode, we have a look at and listen to the Godox WMicS1 UHF wireless microphone system. This budget wireless microphone system features a dual channel receiver and you can buy it in a kit with two transmitters. You can also add a handheld wireless interview microphone later. What differentiates this from the slew of other dual channel consumer wireless systems is that the Godox WMicS1 transmits over a Wideband range of frequencies (514 -596MHz) This frequency can, in theory, transmit through barriers more readily than the 2.4GHz used by most other consumer wireless systems. And perhaps more importantly, you can tune each transmitter to one of 96 channels. You cannot do that with the 2.4GHz consumer wireless systems. Let’s have a look at how it works in real-world conditions!

Sound for Video Session: Microphone Samples, Routing, Q&A, & Gear Sale
In this week's session, we cover a website which allows you to hear multiple microphones on the same voice, a free audio routing app for Mac, a question and answer session, and we'll wrap up by selling (for $1 each) several pieces of gear including microphones, wireless systems, and even some camera monitors. Same deal as always where the winner pays shipping plus $1 (my accountant says we need to do it this way for some such reason).

Audio Technica AT875R Budget Short Shotgun Microphone Review
In this episode, we have a look at and listen to the Audio Technica AT875R short shotgun microphone. This small, lightweight shotgun microphone looks like it was originally designed to be used on professional camcorders, but also works really well as a boom microphone for tighter budget productions and films. In this review, we provide some raw audio samples along with the same samples recorded on the classic Sennheiser MKH416. We also look at its self-noise performance, off-axis response and coloration, as well as other important factors.
